Hopworks Brewery

Hopworks is an OG brewery based in SE Portland looking to stand out in the current crowded market.

With a focus on local and sustainable brewing, their beers aren’t only delicious, they work to protect the planet. From 2019 to now, I’ve worked with Hopworks to help them stand out in the crowded craft beer market.

Founded in 2008, Hopworks started small.

By 2020, they’d expanded to three locations, including a pub in Portland International Airport, and 10+ territories. By 2023, they underwent a massive rebrand.

For Hopworks, visual solutions were all about conveying the brand: light, bright, eco-conscious, but silly. They think of themselves as down-to-earth eco freaks – and that’s exactly what I helped them convey.

True to their punk rock, cycling persona, design for Hopworks is big and in your face. Using bright colors, inspired by their German roots, and a visual language developed from bikes and the planet, I helped them tell their story across every medium.

2023 Rebrand

With the groundwork laid by Lincoln Design Co, I worked one-on-one with Hopworks’ founder to finesse the final look and feel of their new branding with logo iteration, label templating, building signage, packaging, and more.
